The Woods Avenue Animal Clinic Staff
Dr. Gower has been licensed since 1983 in the veterinary field. After having worked at his clinic in Brooklyn for the past 20 years, he is pleased to return to Oceanside, the town where he graduated from high school, and open the Woods Avenue Animal Clinic. Dr. Gower is actively involved in continuing education on local, national web conferences and maintains deep professional commitment to ongoing research and education of small animal diseases. He and his wife, Valerie, love spending time with their six children who are an enormous part of their lives and an ongoing source of joy!
Jon has been an employee at the Woods Avenue Animal Clinic for five years. He attended Nassau Community College and now works part time at South Nassau hospital in Manhasset. He is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the clinic and is very handy. When he is not at the clinic, he enjoys exercising and playing with his cat Gino.
Margaret has been running the front desk for over six years and knows how to make all of our clients feel welcome. Her wit and compassion truly make her an asset to the clinic.
Angela comes to us after moving back from California's central coast where she worked on a wild horse sanctuary. She moved there shortly after graduating Johnson & Wales University with a B.S. in Equine Business Management. When she isn't working at the clinic she's writing articles for an equine magazine.
Matt K started working at Woods Ave Animal Clinic this winter and has already stepped up to help Dr. Gower handling pets and speaking with clients. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Oneonta Matt worked as a Camp Supervisor at School 2 with Department of Community Activities. Matt spent part of his summer studying and successfully completing NYS EMT training certification and has accepted a full time position at a local hospital. Matt will still be with us on a limited part time basis, and his additional studies are an added asset to our services and he continues to train new staff members.
Vianna started working at Woods Avenue Animal Clinic this summer and had no idea it would have such a great impact in her life.
